A logo on a car air freshener: full colour print or laser engraving?

A logo on a car air freshener should be chosen together with the model’s material, marking method and visible surface. Full colour print and laser engraving produce different results and are not interchangeable on every housing. Begin with the parts of the logo that must remain: colours, shape, small text or the appearance of the material itself. Then check the treatment on a specific model.

When should you compare full colour print?

Full colour print is a starting point when a design depends on several colours, a pattern or a coloured background. This can matter for campaign artwork, product imagery or a brand graphic. The availability of printing does not confirm every small detail or a particular colour match. Assess the result against the model’s print area and production method.

Classic Solid and Classic Motion are catalogue models with full colour artwork options. Their overall forms differ, so one composition may not work equally well on both. A rectangular wordmark and a circular symbol can use different layouts while retaining the same brand identity. Avoid forcing one file onto every model simply to reduce the number of designs.

Decide what information should remain on the product. A company name and mark may be enough; a long contact line or detailed campaign terms do not have to fit on a small surface. Packaging gives a second message its own space. For a web address or QR code, check readability and use at the actual size, rather than only viewing an enlarged design on screen.

When should you consider engraving on wood or aluminium?

Laser engraving belongs in the comparison when the priority is the logo shape and a clear mark, without requiring full colour reproduction in that position. Engraving is not another name for colour printing. The appearance must be checked against the particular surface and artwork, rather than promising one darkness level or colour code across every product.

Woodline Premium and Premium Aluminium offer both print and laser engraving options in the current collection. Natural wood grain and the metal surface contribute to the presentation. The same monochrome logo file can therefore create a different impression. A material sample or suitable product photograph helps establish the direction, while the order’s own artwork is approved separately.

If the brand guidelines require a coloured logo, check whether an approved monochrome version also exists. Do not alter the logo in a way that removes necessary elements or conflicts with those guidelines. Identify which file is intended for printing and which is supplied for engraving review. A clear file label is more useful than two almost identical versions without an explanation.

Compare designs at the same size and with the same message

A marking comparison is useful when it considers the same logo purpose and actual product format. A mark presented larger on one drawing can look better simply because of the size. Request a layout that clearly identifies the product boundary, marking area and logo dimensions. Where needed, ask about a sample; availability and its specification are confirmed for the request.

Send an original logo file suitable for feasibility review. A small downloaded image or screenshot may identify the mark but may not be a production source. The Invame enquiry form accepts PDF, PNG, JPG and WebP files. A vector logo can be supplied as a PDF; the specific production file requirements are confirmed before manufacturing begins.

A colour image and a logo need not be the same file. Identify the source logo, campaign graphic and any image included only to explain the idea. When a designer prepares the artwork after model selection, provide the approved template. An assumed template with invented dimensions can require unnecessary reworking even when the logo itself is good quality.

Give packaging a separate purpose

The product can carry a lasting company mark, while the packaging explains the campaign, thank-you message or occasion. This keeps the logo clear and avoids putting the whole advertisement on one small surface. Packaging artwork must still fit the model’s available packaging options; its treatment does not follow automatically from the product’s marking method.

Distinguish foil printing from laser engraving and full colour printing. These are separate treatments and models do not share every option. For example, a wood model’s foil option must not be carried over to aluminium merely because both have premium names. Specify the technique for each component instead of simply asking for the same logo everywhere.

Review the complete product, fragrance, logo placement and packaging. The material guide explains the effect of the surface, and the fragrance and packaging article connects the gift to its recipient. A campaign that changes later may need separate artwork versions and quantities. A previous approval does not approve a new message automatically.

How can you request comparable marking quotations?

If the mark must remain recognisable without its packaging, review the design without the surrounding advertisement. Is the company logo still clear? This simple design exercise distinguishes the product’s main identity from campaign graphics. It does not replace technical approval, but gives the designer a concrete objective.

Send one or two model choices, the quantity, original logo and preferred treatment. Explain whether brand colours are mandatory and what text must remain on the product. Add packaging, fragrance, delivery country and required arrival date. If comparing two treatments, ask for the same quantity and complete supply scope for both.

Before production, confirm the model, file version, placement and marking type. Check that product and packaging do not carry different web addresses or outdated campaign terms. Price and timing are confirmed for the actual specification; engraving is not automatically cheaper or faster than printing. Request a suitable treatment for your logo with the files and requirements that the comparison must consider.
