Custom shaped car air fresheners: standard model or a new housing?
Custom shaped car air fresheners can describe two different orders: your artwork on an existing model, or a new housing developed around your company’s idea. They involve different preparation, minimum quantities and design checks. Before sending a logo, decide whether recognition comes from the graphic or whether the physical shape must also change. You can then compare solutions that address the same need.

Start a custom shape brief with the purpose
Describe who receives the gift and at what moment. A thank-you for an automotive customer, a trade show giveaway and a product for a longer campaign do not necessarily need the same solution. Decide what the recipient should recognise first: your company name, logo, a silhouette associated with a product, or a campaign message. One clear feature provides a better design brief than several small elements competing for attention.
An existing housing does not mean accepting generic advertising. Classic Solid provides a rectangular model for your artwork, while Classic Motion offers a different overall form. If your logo needs colour and a well-positioned message, an existing model may already serve the purpose. A new housing is worth investigating when its distinctive outline is an important part of the idea.
Before choosing the technical solution, compare the message you can put on an existing surface with the part that genuinely requires another silhouette. Include the distribution situation and an initial quantity. For a product intended for several campaigns, avoid dates or narrowly defined event names that would become part of the permanent housing. Campaign-specific information may belong on the packaging instead.
Shape and Individual Shape are different options
Invame Shape is an existing polymer fragrance model with printed artwork. Individual Shape is the option for a custom plastic housing. Similar names do not make their products, artwork requirements or order conditions identical. In a quotation request, identify the model and separately describe the shape you want to change.
The current catalogue minimum is 500 pieces for Shape and 3,000 pieces for Individual Shape. Classic Solid and Classic Motion start at 100 pieces. These are model selection facts, rather than a promise that all artwork versions can be combined without restrictions. Different logos, colours or fragrances require a reviewed quantity breakdown. The same total quantity does not automatically make quotations for different models comparable.
| Option | What changes? | Current model minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Classic Solid or Classic Motion | Artwork on an existing housing | 100 pieces |
| Shape | Print on an existing polymer model | 500 pieces |
| Individual Shape | Custom housing subject to feasibility review | 3,000 pieces |
Compare quantities with your actual distribution programme. Ordering several thousand gifts for a few hundred recipients is not necessarily a good decision simply to obtain another shape. A distinctive housing may be more relevant when the same product supports several locations or a longer programme. Establish that requirement before approving a design.
Artwork and housing shape need separate checks
Send the best original logo file available and a separate picture or sketch of the intended form. The logo identifies the mark; the sketch explains the product outline. Identify essential details and elements that may change during technical review. A phone screenshot can communicate an idea, but does not replace a production file or a model-specific approval drawing.
Do not determine the print area, fixing or final housing dimensions solely from a photograph. The visible surface and usable artwork area may differ. Request the appropriate template and a suitability check. Review the design at its actual size: is the main logo shape understandable, is the small text necessary, and are important details placed on a suitable surface?
A custom housing option does not confirm every intricate outline or feature. Provide a simpler alternative that retains the identity of your brand. This makes it easier to discuss acceptable adjustments without starting the whole design again. Production feasibility, preparation costs and timing are confirmed from the actual quotation and design.
Match packaging and quantities to distribution
Packaging must fit the chosen model and explain the gift. Do not assume that an existing blister card or box will fit a new housing unchanged. Review the product position, visible packaging face, text and agreed contents. Ask which packaging options are feasible for the particular model and artwork.
For several locations, list the quantities by destination or distribution point. A campaign total might cover branches, an event and a reserve. This helps determine whether every location needs the same design and how packages should be identified. It does not automatically establish a multi-address delivery service; specify the delivery arrangement you require in the request.
Choose the fragrance at the same stage, using more than a fragrance name or packaging photograph. Browse the fragrance collection and ask about tester options when appropriate. One model’s use or duration information must not be applied to a different product. The shape decision concerns appearance and production; fragrance and use details need their own confirmation.
What belongs in a custom shape quotation request?
If the shape decision is still open, request two alternatives: your artwork on an existing model and the proposed new housing. Use the same recipient group and packaging purpose for both. This helps distinguish what changes because of the housing and what remains part of the original gift specification.
Bring together the purpose, model or solution type, quantity, logo, shape sketch, fragrance and packaging preference. Add the required arrival date and delivery country. Explain whether there is one artwork version or several. The supplier can then assess the full request, rather than just the visible part of a product photograph.
Before approval, check whether the quotation covers an existing printed model or a new housing, what the complete supply includes, and which preparation work is included in the price. Read the order preparation guide and print versus engraving comparison when the main question concerns the logo treatment. Request a custom shaped car air freshener quotation around your actual requirements.
